Grief series - 3. What does grief look like?
The most important thing to know about grief is that it's about loss - any loss that is meaningful to you.
Grief happens when you lose a pillar of your life that you may not even have realized how significant of a pillar it was until you lost it.
It's a relationship that ends or the death of someone who mattered to you.
It's your job, your career that you lose because you were made redundant or fired, or because you can't do this job anymore.
It's your health that declines or that suddenly is robbed from you through an injury, an accident, or a health issue.
It’s the trust you had in a person or in the world before something awful happened to you.
It’s losing something that means your life will never be the same again.
It’s having to discover what life looks like after this loss.
